Stories

July 20, 2022

Hello everyone! I am excited to finally post our first story. It was a long time coming since publishing the site, but better late than never.

As many people know, the idea of this site came about probably a year ago in 2021 (I can’t remember exactly anymore). We were discussing what to do with all the spider babies coming off our large plant, as featured above. Clara knew we could easily sell the plants on Craigslist as she had seen several listings in the past, but almost immediately we knew that wasn’t the right path for us. It felt too impersonal and almost meaningless in a sense, but we had to do something. Our plant was exploding with children and there didn’t seem to be an end in sight of its reproduction.

Then, sitting at the same table, we found our solution. Our plant has meaning. It brings us happiness and grows as we grow through life, why not spread this message? There are so many special people in our lives, why not share a piece of our life to let them know how important they are? We want everyone in our life to know the love we have for them whether we talk to them every day or just once a year. If you are in our life, you are there for a reason and we want to make sure you know that. Furthermore, we want those that receive our babies to pass on their future children to humans of significance in their life. We want to get further connected in with and know those who you care about because if they are significant to you, they are significant to us as well.  Through the continuous passing on of love through our plants we’ll quickly learn how far more connected to each other we are than we think. These plants will bring us all together in a way we might not have thought of, but in a way that makes each and every handoff of a spider plant much more significant than selling them on Craigslist. Thus, with Clara’s assistance on the website name – the idea of WorldWideWebs was born!

Although written later, we dated this post as of when the site was launched in July. We plan to gather more stories from members of this community as we continue to progress and grow our plants across the country and eventually the world!

We hope everyone is happy and having a great day. If not, feel free to reach out to me directly. Although I am bad about responding to messages and sometimes answering calls, I, and everyone else on this site, will be here for you.
